Eighty tons is the rating at the crane's shortest radius. On your job the number that matters is what it can pick at the distance it actually has to reach, and that falls off quickly as the boom extends. This is why a 20,000 lb load can be an easy pick or an impossible one depending on where it has to land.
The RT880E is the largest rough terrain in our fleet, and it is the machine we send when a site is unimproved but the load is still serious. Tilt-up and precast panel setting, structural steel on a dirt pad, tank and vessel sets, solar and utility work, and mechanical equipment that has to clear a building.
Give us the weight, the radius and a description of the ground and we will size the pick. If a 70-ton or a 50-ton does the job, we will tell you, because sending more crane than the lift needs costs you money and mobilization time you did not need to spend.
What we can confirm about the unit in our yard. We do not publish numbers copied off a spec aggregator for a different build.

Operated crane work bills against an hourly minimum, portal to portal. The clock runs from our yard and back rather than only while the crane sits on your pad, which is standard for operated service and is the number people forget to compare when they shop a rate.
A rigger or signal person is added per man when the pick calls for one. There is no fuel surcharge and no counterweight fee. Larger jobs are quoted as clean separate lines so mobilization, setup and crane time are each visible instead of rolled into one figure you cannot check.
Yes. If you have your own certified operator, the same crane is available bare and we deliver it on our own lowboy the same way. You take on the operator, the rigging and the lift plan; the machine and the haul are ours.
Most contractors take the operated option, because operator certification, rigging gear and the lift plan are precisely the parts that are awkward and slow to source job by job. But the fleet is the same either way, and the choice is yours to make on the quote.
We quote per job rather than publishing a rate, because the same crane costs very differently on two jobs. These are the variables that move the number, so you can check any quote you get, ours included.
Radius, not just weight
How far out the load sits decides the configuration and sometimes the crane class itself. It is the single most misjudged input.
Time on the clock
Operated work bills portal to portal against an hourly minimum, so travel from the north Phoenix yard counts.
Mobilization distance
The crane rides to you on our lowboy, and the move is quoted from the yard so you can see it separately.
Ground and matting

Most of this crane's work is metro Phoenix, where the move is short and same day is often possible. We run it statewide across Arizona for larger jobs, and out of state when a project justifies the mobilization.
