Crane and heavy equipment rental fleet

ON-SITE is a crane and heavy equipment rental yard at 21815 N 16th St in north Phoenix, Arizona. The fleet runs to 21 machines: eight crane classes from a 25-ton boom truck to a 120-ton all-terrain, plus excavators, loaders, dozers, a backhoe, a telehandler, a skid steer, a dump truck and a rock slinger.

Cranes go out as operated crane rental in Phoenix, with a certified operator and rigging on one contract. Earthmoving goes out as bare heavy equipment rental, delivered on our own trucks. Filter the yard below, or tell us the job and we will size it.

What can you rent from ON-SITE in Phoenix?

ON-SITE runs thirteen categories of machine out of one yard: five crane types covering eight crane models, plus eight earthmoving, material-handling and hauling categories. The table below is the whole yard at a glance, what each category is normally used for, and whether it rents with an operator or bare.

Class What it is used for In the yard Rents as
All-Terrain Crane Travels the highway on its own wheels, then works off pavement once it arrives. The class for the heaviest picks that still have to drive to the site. With operator
Crawler Crane Lattice boom on tracks. Built for long-duration heavy lifting where the crane stays on one site for weeks rather than mobilizing daily. With operator
Rough Terrain Crane One cab, four large tires, designed to work on dirt, pads and unimproved ground. The everyday Phoenix workhorse for site lifting. With operator
Truck Crane Crane on a road-going carrier. Fast to arrive and quick to set up, best on paved and accessible sites. With operator
Boom Truck The smallest operated class. Short, precise sets where mobilizing a full crane would cost more than the lift is worth. With operator
Excavator Digging, trenching, demolition and load-out. Sized to the trench and the ground you are working in. Bare
Wheel Loader Moving material fast: stockpiles, backfill and truck loading. The compact machine also runs forks and attachments. Bare
Dozer Pushing dirt. Cut, fill, rough grade and pad work across open ground. Bare
Backhoe Digs on one end and loads on the other. The general-purpose machine for utility work and tighter sites. Bare
Telehandler Forks on a telescopic boom. Places material at height and reach where a forklift cannot get to it. Bare
Skid Steer Tight-site machine that runs a wide range of attachments. Where a full-size loader will not fit. Bare
Truck Hauling spoil, aggregate and material on and off the site. Bare
Rock Slinger Conveyor truck that throws rock and aggregate into place, including behind walls and into yards a dump truck cannot back into. Bare

Specs on each machine page are published only where we have confirmed them from the unit itself. Where a spec is not listed yet, ask and we will pull it off the machine.

Operated crane or bare rental: which do you need?

Operated rental means ON-SITE supplies the machine and a certified operator together on one contract. Bare rental means we deliver the machine and your crew runs it. In practice the split follows the machine: cranes go out operated because the lift plan, rigging and certification travel with the crane, and earthmoving goes out bare because your operators are already on the job.

Operated

You are buying a lift, not a machine

  • A certified operator, confirmed before the iron moves
  • Rigging, blocks, spreader bar and mats as the pick needs
  • The lift plan drawn for your load, radius and ground
  • Billed portal to portal against an hourly minimum

Bare

Your operator, our machine

  • Delivered and picked up on our own lowboys and flatbeds
  • Rented by the day, the week or the month
  • Attachments quoted with the machine, not sourced separately
  • Photo walk-around at drop and pick-up

What size crane do I need?

A crane's tonnage rating describes what it can pick at its shortest radius, not what it can pick at your load. The number that decides the job is capacity at the distance the crane actually has to reach, which is why two lifts of identical weight can need very different machines.

Tell us the weight, the reach and the ground and we size it from the yard. If a smaller class does the job we say so, because an oversized crane costs more, mobilizes slower and often needs more setup room than the site has. The same logic applies to earthmoving: machine size follows the trench, the access and the haul.

Size my lift 520-224-1551 Same-day quotes, 6 days a week

Tell us three things

  1. 1 What it weighs.Including rigging, not just the load on the drawing.
  2. 2 How far the crane must reach.Where the crane can set up, and where the load has to land.
  3. 3 What the ground is like.Paved, compacted, or soft enough to need mats.

How renting from the yard works

Four steps, and the only one that needs anything from you is the first. Dispatch runs Monday to Saturday from 4:30am, so a machine ordered in the afternoon can be on site before your crew the next morning.

  1. 1

    Tell us the job

The machine or the lift, the dates, and where it is going. If you are not sure what you need, describe the work and we size it.

  2. 2

    We quote it

Usually the same day. If a smaller class does the job, we say so rather than sending more machine than the work needs.

  3. 3

    COI and agreement

Send your certificate of insurance and sign from your phone. We verify the COI before anything leaves the yard.

  4. 4

    We deliver

On our own lowboys and flatbeds, with a photo walk-around at drop and pick-up so condition is never an argument.

Common questions about equipment rental in Phoenix

What equipment can you rent in Phoenix from ON-SITE?
ON-SITE rents 21 machines from its yard at 21815 N 16th St in north Phoenix: eight crane classes from a 25-ton boom truck to a 120-ton all-terrain, plus excavators to 35 tons, wheel loaders, dozers, a backhoe, a telehandler, a skid steer, a dump truck and a rock slinger.
Do your cranes come with an operator?
Yes. Cranes rent as operated service, which means the crane, a certified operator and the rigging arrive together on one contract. Earthmoving equipment rents bare, so you supply the operator and we deliver the machine.
Do you deliver equipment, or do I have to collect it?
We deliver and pick up on our own heavy haul fleet: tri-axle tractors, a 75-ton lowboy, a 60-ton lowboy, a 50-ton removable gooseneck and flatbeds. You can collect if you have the trailer and the rating for it.
How much does it cost to rent a crane in Phoenix?
We quote each job rather than publishing a rate card, because the same crane prices very differently across two jobs. Crane class, hours on the clock, rigging and crew, mobilization distance from the yard, ground conditions and any permits are what move the number.
Can I rent a machine for a single day?
Yes. Bare equipment rents by the day, week or month. Operated crane work bills portal to portal against an hourly minimum, so travel time from the yard counts toward it.
What areas do you serve?
Most of our work is metro Phoenix: Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Peoria and Surprise. We run statewide across Arizona for larger jobs, and mobilize into Nevada, California, Utah, Texas, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and New Mexico when a project justifies the move.
What are your hours?
The yard runs Monday to Saturday, 4:30am to 8:00pm, and is closed Sundays. Dispatch starts at 4:30am because concrete and steel do not wait for business hours. Emergency crane response is available outside those hours.
